Work Permit

A Work Permit is a document issued by the voivode that allows a foreigner to legally work in Poland. It is necessary when a person from outside the European Union or European Economic Area wants to take up employment in Poland. Without this document, work in Poland may be considered illegal, which can result in legal consequences for both the employee and the employer.

TYPES OF WORK PERMITS

In Poland, there are several types of work permits that differ depending on the nature of employment:

  • Seasonal Work Permit – mainly applies to work in agriculture, horticulture, and tourism.

  • Type B Permit – for individuals serving on management boards of companies operating in Poland.
  • Type C Permit – for foreigners posted to work in a Polish branch of a foreign company.
  • Type D Permit – for individuals posted to Poland for the purpose of providing export services.
  • Type E Permit – for individuals posted to Poland for purposes other than those mentioned above.

  • Proof of stamp duty payment for the permit issuance.

Additional documents may be required for seasonal or specialist permits.
